Kelly got a taste of Marrero culture when my homeroom students were discussing this:

...and laughing that their friend was there and "all cryin' and stuff."

One of my flirtatious sixth graders came up to me at the end of class... "Hey... uh... Miss Craven... I think Ima go to San Diego and uh... I was wonderin' if I could maybe crash with your cousin?"

They called her "Miss Kelly" and some of them thought she was my daughter. Others thought she was my big sister.

Now we're in detention.
