The thunderstorms are gone. For three nights it felt like we might need to call Noah- it was raining so hard for so long and the thunder made it sound like you were in the belly of an airplane that was being attacked by enemy fire. Part of the plaster of Ashlee's ceiling came tumbling abruptly down at three in the morning. It is possible that this means our house has now been hit three times by lightning.

But now the sky is blue, and the air a bit cooler. Yesterday I spent most of the afternoon and evening teaching my roomate about my favorite art supplies in our guest-house/studio (above). There is something so satisfying about holding down the nozzle of a can of gold spray paint. And having time to. State testing begins this week, so with only 2 days of lesson plans to make for the week, we actually felt like we had time to put our creativity to frivolous use this weekend. It felt great.

I like how they keep talking about the TFA recruits as "the best and the brightest in the nation," ie. Carrie Craven.
turns out some of the "best and brightest" are boring.
here's what's not boring: spring break in less than 2 weeks!
The lion is not leaving Washington. But at least we got to experience the lamb in Phoenix. I'm glad you're having some time for art. By the way, you are one of the best and brightest! Love you.
