Short-Stories: The Mysteries of Harris Burdick

A Strange Day in July
The third stone came skipping back.

The fifth one ended up in France. / He was sure he'd seen the doorknob turn.
A book and related project (that I did myself in 8th grade) made for a magical moment of dialogue in my classroom yesterday:

"This is cool. Why they ain't got more stuff like this on TV?"

"Yeah, why they don't have shows about books on TV?"

God bless Chris Van Allsburg.

Oh my god, this is my favorite children's book! I know you are so busy, but if you get the chance I would like to know what your lesson using this book was. I've been trying to work something similar out for a while now. Hope your having a good weekend!
