Brunch!

We had brunch today.  A few of the students that Shira and I share whose friend and classmate was lost yesterday morning came over to make eggs and toast and fruit salad (we blew their minds picking fresh mint from the garbage and composting our food scraps).  

D told me that the combination of yesterday and today were the best days of her life.  We looked at pictures from the northwest and Europe and she expressed her desire to go to college and "experience the world."  Her family is trying to move out of the neighborhood where they now live- where Marcus was shot just a few houses away.  It is incredible.

They are incredible.

I think I may be back again next year after all.
