Yesterday, it RAINED.
A twenty minute drive took us 45 as we maneuvered through streets so flooded it prompted someone to call it K-storm junior. There was no escaping the steady stream of storms that pounded down on New Orleans for a good six hours last night.
We were waiting for our guy to open up the venue, hiding under the two foot awning, and we watched a ten foot plank of wood float down the gutter a-la Huck f-ing Finn. Cars would drive by and straight up WAVES would come lapping to our feet. It was NUTS.
Still- the show must go on, and there was a surprising turnout despite the cataclysmic wetness outside. The audience was awesome, most things went right, and we added a special version of "Favorite Things" at the end that brought down the house. What an experience.
