A cockroach.
Just because they're not omnipresent everywhere, but they are here. So there.
I passed my "outside observation" today. Whatever that means. I guess it's supposed to be a big deal. It's one of about four and a half flaming hoops I still have to jump through to officially become a certified teacher in Louisiana. Since I still don't know what I want to do with my life, I'm not putting too much weight on any one hurdle. So I was pretty calm as an official woman from the state took elaborate cursive notes on the bibliography lesson I was doing today. With 26 of my most energetic kids, it was noisy but positive and pretty-well focused. No crazy outbursts, and all but 2 kids mastered the objective like nobody's business. If only all of writing was as simple as where you put the commas and quotation marks.
In other life news...
Played a rousing game of Sloshball on Saturday afternoon for our friend Stephanie's birthday. For those of you who have never had the opportunity to play, you should create the opportunity. Sloshball is kickball, with a keg as second base. Additional rules may be added at the discretion of the group.

I've been drinking tea the past three days instead of coffee. No reason really. It just happened.
I'm going to Spain during winter break this year! Might traipse back up to France for a bit while I'm there too. Although Portugal and Morocco are also on the prospective agenda.
They keep saying it's about to get cooler here. But it's been in the 80's and 90's forever. Don't get me wrong, I love wearing flip-flops all the time, but, there's something special about pulling on a mid-October sweater...
And lastly, years after railing adamantly against it,
I have started watching LOST.

it snowed 3 inches in missoula last week and dropped down to 4 deg. i think that qualifies for a sweater...or perhaps a parka or puffy.
you should visit scott in morocco.
I switched to tea for no good reason this past week, too. The day I reintroduced coffee I almost couldn't control my body from the jitters. Spain sounds excellent, also.
