Today I Learned...

My kids are doing research to create their own PSAs. (Check out www.mscraven.blogspot.com for more on what we're doing in class). They're generally pretty excited to make videos and do presentations about teen suicide, teen pregnancy, depression, and drug use. At one point after a student asked if they could talk about ways to prevent STDs, one of my seventh grade pulled out a condom from his pocket and held it up high.

At least he knows what they are.

Also today:
B, as I'm teaching, puts his fingers in his ears and makes a high pitched squeal that could've caused dogs to start running.

A. comes in, nearly yelling, about how she learned that humans have very small tails. "They do! We do!! They're just covered by skin!!!"

I taught about seven kids how to use their own email.

FRIDAY!!!!!!!
