MLK Day in Marrero

Last year I was so disheartened to learn that at the end of the Martin Luther King Jr. parade in the city where I teach- shots rang out and a kid was hurt. This year, it happened again.
"I started runnin' in my socks! I swear!" laughs J, exasperated. She's telling me the story, "runnin' it to me." Many of my girls were performing in the parade: marching, dancing, twirling batons.

This is the only news coverage I found on it.
