In other news (last year I never would have imagined having the time/energy to write TWO blog posts in one day!),
today was the first day of Foreign Language Club (FLC). It was so much fun. We did "je m'appelle..." and the question to go with it, and numbers up till six. They also got super excited about a t-shirt design that entails some sort of "Can you read this? Well, I can." sort of inside FLC joke. I get to do a lot more exuberant overacting and gesticulating in foreign language instruction. I realize that's one reason I like it so much. We're meeting again tomorrow.
So now my weeks are- for a few months- going to look like this after school:
Monday and Wednesday: rockin' francais with fifteen hilarious and adorable over-achievers.
Tuesday: my first graduate class (Teaching Writing to English Language Learners/Staying Zen-Like-Respectful as ridiculously-enormous-mug-of-soda-lady rambles on about her class' Powerpoint projects and other irrelevant anecdotes)
Thursday and Friday: crafting in the YaYa studio (a 3-dimensional "map" among other mixed media endeavors)
WHOA!
Also: my car is once again running again. The lovely Betty the Buick (a helluva beauty if you've never met) is back in service, delivering me safely to UNO and the grocery store and, of course, school, in style. Also equipped with a steering wheel that cleverly turns both ways- which helps when there is a large oven in the middle of the highway (like there was tonight). Thanks to Paul the janitor for helping me replace the alternator and battery, and to my father for insisting I hide a set of spare keys from myself (my purse was stolen a week before Spain so I would have been SOL if not for that little black box). Cheers Dad!
